| "Just a little foreword… … and four! This is the fourth English edition of “777 Harbours and Anchorages”. For this occasion, we have decided to take further steps to make the consultation of our pilot book easier. To begin with, you will be able to quickly grasp the information regarding shores and islands thanks to the new coloured maps. We have worked hard during the past two years to achieve this and the result is now right in front of your eyes. As you can see, thanks to the colours, the necessary information becomes immediate, while the text remains easily readable. Three shades of blue are used to describe sea depths (decreasing in the clearer areas). The land is green. Little “drops” of light have been added to lighthouses, according to their light characteristics. The lighthouse sectors are highlighted by means of coloured “bows” of the relevant colour. In the first part of the book, five new reference charts have been added. These include the page numbers for each stretch of coast analyzed in the chapter and makes for an easier consultation of the guide. Another important step we have taken has been the creation of the second part of the book regarding Albania. We have decided to include this country in our guide because its wild coasts are attracting an increasing number of passionate sailors. The symbols used in these maps are the same as in the first part of the guide. We think we have reached a good result, but we always appreciate your comments and suggestions to improve even further. Thanks to the popularity of this book, we have been able to print in colour, increase the number of pages and the quality of the paper used (plastic cover). Thank you for your collaboration and precious encouragements. Piero Magnabosco" |
